Year 1 visit Armagh Museum
16th Feb 2026
Year 1 had a wonderful time at the ‘Playing Through Time’ workshop at Armagh County Museum. The children explored toys from the past and discovered how toys were made in Victorian times, learning about the different materials that were used long ago.
They had great fun playing with traditional toys such as jumping jacks, marbles, skittles, Jacob’s ladder and ball in a cup. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that really brought history to life!
To finish the workshop, the children made and decorated their own peg dolls and peg aeroplanes.
A massive thank you to the staff at Armagh Museum for such an enjoyable and engaging day!
